Aesthetic Crown Lengthening and Ceramic Crowns to Enhance the Smile

Patient Information
This patient presented with excess gum tissue covering her lateral incisors, which made the teeth appear shorter than the surrounding teeth and affected the balance of her smile. The underlying cause was excess bone covering the upper portion of the teeth, preventing the gums from naturally sitting at the proper level.
To correct this, we performed aesthetic crown lengthening, a precise procedure that reshapes the gum and bone to reveal the natural tooth structure. A minimally invasive laser was used to gently remove excess gum tissue, and a specialized sulcular chisel was used to carefully reshape the bone around the lateral incisors.
The patient also had older composite bonding that had become discolored over time. To improve the shape and color of the teeth, we placed custom ceramic crowns designed to blend seamlessly with her natural smile.
The result is a more balanced gum line, improved tooth proportions, and a natural, confident smile.
